Pre-Travel Consultation:

During the visit, We will review of travel itinerary and medical history . You will learn about learn about the travel risks of your destination and the required and recommended immunizations. You receive a written report about the current health risks of your destination.

 

Preventative Medicines

Some diseases are prevented by vaccination. For others, like malaria and dengue fever, no vaccines exist. Fortunately, preventative medicines for some of these, such as malaria, are available and can be taken orally while traveling. Medications for common travel illnesses, like traveler's diarrhea, are also available.

If your routine immunizations are not current, we may advise you to have them updated. Most common of these are Measles/ Mumps/ Rubella and Tetanus/ Diphtheria.

 

Scheduling appointments four to six weeks prior to departure is best.

  • Most vaccines take time to become effective.
  • Some immunizations are given in a series over several weeks.

Prior to your appointment we review your:

  • Travel dates and destinations;
  • List of medications currently taken;
  • Childhood and adult vaccination records;
  • World Health Organization International Certificate of Vaccination

Post Travel Care

If you have a fever, or in fact any other unwanted problems on your return, or have been exposed to everything under the sun, you should visit your family doctor or a travel medicine specialist.
